Course exemption means a course you previously passed is counted as an equivalent course in your new program, so you do not retake it. Adaptation (intibak) determines which year/semester you are placed in, based on the total ECTS of your exempted courses.

Exemption and adaptation applications are usually made within the first week after enrolment (often 10 business days). Most regulations do not accept late requests, so timing is critical.

As a rule: the previously taken course content must sufficiently match the target course, its ECTS/credit must be equal or higher, and it must have been passed. The decision is made by the unit's adaptation committee.

Core documents: an exemption petition, an officially approved transcript, and approved course contents (syllabi) of the passed courses. Documents from abroad may require apostille and certified translation.

Most universities use 30 ECTS per semester and 60 ECTS per year. The total ECTS of exempted courses is evaluated against these thresholds; e.g. if your exemptions cover a semester's load, you may be placed in the next semester. The exact placement is finalized by the committee.

Some universities apply an exemption exam, especially for foreign language and basic computing/IT courses, instead of or in addition to the transcript. Students who pass are exempted. Practice varies by university and course.

This depends on the university's exemption regulation. Some institutions record the grade and include it in the GPA; others mark it as "exempt" and exclude it. We clarify your institution's rule before applying.

You can usually file a justified objection/re-evaluation petition within the set period. Most rejections stem from missing syllabi or ECTS mismatch; with the right documents many decisions can be reversed. We prepare your objection file.
